Route

Lincomb Lock – 5.6km / 50m

Details

A quick walk after work to go and see the Severn. We walked over the lower common, onto the A4025 then down the lane towards Lincomb Lock caravan park. We took the right of way uphill to the east of the park where we saw some nice woodland species, then cut down through the site.

Next we passed through the site gardens and got to the Severn where we walked down to check out Lincomb Lock and the lock keeper’s cottage.

We decided to have a quick look at Stourport Marina, before heading back through the caravan site and over the common. The grounds of the site were well maintained, with an apiary, veg beds and a bug hotel!

Records

On the way back we stopped off at Titton Stores to get breakfast and walked through the common by night.

Summary

A quick, evening walk that took around 1.5 hours with a varied range of habitats such as heathland, woodland, gardens, wet woodland, riparian and urban. It was accessible but required stout boots or wellies in February, especially down by the river. Not particularly challenging – could be combined with a walk further up the river or back down into Stourport for a longer loop.
